So Called Plan -shortly

So Called plan started in the year 2003 after two bands from Turku broke up and four guys were left bandless. For the first year the band used the name Sidewalk, which was later changed to So Called Plan.

After only a few band rehearsals So Called plan started doing gigs. They played shows in legendary rock clubs such as TVO and Downtown. After some good shows in their home town, So Called Plan played a few tours all over Finland.

Because the band got more and more gigs all around Finland, guitarist Jussi Bang had to quit and concentrate more to his pilot studies. For a while So Called Plan was missing a lead guitarist and played a couple of shows as a trio. But very soon a new member was found. Sauli was an old friend of the band, and he was a natural choice to play lead guitar.

In 2005 band was about to do a D.I.Y release called Suburbian Honesty. But the same day as they got their first real record on their hands, a famous rock manager Tommi Liimatainen called to Eero and wanted to sign So Called Plan to his record label. Almost immedietly after the phone call So Called Plan was signed to Hype Records, and "Suburbian Honesty" never actually came out.

In 2006 the band released their debut album "Suburbian Symphony", which got a lot of attention in the finnish media. The album reached 10th position in the Finnish official chart and the first single "Same About The Sorrow" got a lot of airplay in the finnish radios. The hype around the band was growing and So Called Plan played almost 100 gigs in 2006 including big festivals such as Provinssirock.

The sophmore album was meant to be released in 2007, but as soon as the recordings started, problems appeared. Eero lost his voice and it was impossible to record his vocals. There was nothing wrong with his vocal chords, but he got a throut infection and he just couldn´t sign. The situation was very frustrating. The next 6 months were very difficult and depression was about the take over. After several medical inquiries, a disease labeled Laryngeal Reflux was found. It was a great relief to the band and especially to the singer. With medication and lifestyle changes Eero got his voice back.

Without a proper producer, the band decided that their drummer would produce the sophmore album as well. The whole album, except the drums, were recorded in bands own home studio. The fourth coming album is much darker and it sounds a lot bigger than the previous one. The lyrics of the album are very personal with sujects like depression, loss, death and finding hope etc. The lyrics reveal a lot of what have happened around the band and in the last few years..

So Called Plans second album "December Turns To Fall" will be released 03/09 2008.
